freezing stretch
#1
Is there any way I can freeze the stretching caused by Part.Velocity AutoStretch? I have Pflow particles travelling along a curved spline. I stop them in a certain position, so the stretching disappears when the velocity hits zero. Or any other way I could do it?

Thanks

Hello,

Instead of stopping particles completely, can you keep velocity at a very small amount ?
Something that is not noticeable, but AfterBurn will still be able to
get particle orientation ?

Hi Kresimir
Unfortunately I needed to keep the particles still. In the end I squashed the length and used an AFC on Z rotation with ObjectDistance. I positioned the reference object to get the highest amount aligned, then tweaked the AFC curve. It's not a perfect solution, but it works.

Thanks

Hello Mark,

That is a very nice workaround.
Probably some max script controller would make life easier ?

Hi Kresimir. Thanks.
I can access Afterburn stretching through maxscript?

You cannot do that in 3.2, but I am thinking about adding such functionality to 4.0.
Along AFCs and controllers, allow users to use max script to tweak various values.

That would be extremely useful.
