small update for Arnold 6.2 ?
#1
Hello :-) is there soon a small update for Arnold 6.2.0.x for 3ds max 2021?
Although I don't know if this is really just a small task ;-)
Stay healthy

Hello,

Could you please let us know - did the FumeFX-Arnold connection stopped working with Arnold 6.2 ?
If so, we'll fix it for the next update.

Thank you.

Hello :-)

I have created a scene with a FFX Simple Src and simulated 100 frames.
Then rendered with the new Arnold 6.2.0.1 ... and then I get this error message.

Thanks for your effort.

Frank

Thanks for your effort.

Looks very nice update, But Im having Trouble with new updated fumefx in c4d, I keep getting crashes, especially when you try to add object source, any new about it or is just me. by the way arnold works fine, but it shows the smoke less thicker than before.

Hello,

Thank you very much for the report.
We've been able to reproduce the crash as working on it.

As for the Arnold render opacity - we really didn't change the shading code, so it's maybe something that's been changed inside the Arnold ?
Do you maybe have any images for comparision where you have noticed that ?

Best,

Hello,

We've tried FumeFX just different FumeFX versions and the render looks the same. It could be that they've changed Arnold which would be strange.

Yes, I do not believe this has anything to do with FumeFX, I just can't figure it out what is happening with arnold render. by the way, what version of arnold render did you try, since arnold version 3.3.0 this problem started. I will try more test on this.
Kind Regards

We tried only to change FumeFX version and keep the C4DtoA at 3.3.2.
Maybe they've changed something in C4DtoA ? I doubt that the core has changed.

Good news,
I think it worked in a strange way, maybe not so strange at all, you see, when I add the Arnold Standard volume shader and by selecting standard on the volume shading the smoke loses the quality, but if I select Arnold\Redshift Volume it works fine just like Before but in arnold 3.2 if I kept it both on Standard it was working fine, but with A 3.3 only works like above.
Please any advice on this.Thanks

You should set to Arnold/Redshift Volume for volume shading rendering parameters when rendering with Arnold.

Yes correct, and thank you, but what I was doing was comparing ffx505 with ffx506, you see, before this update(506) I could do that with both
Setting, but now only works with setting to Arnold/Redshift Volume. So what I was trying to understand was, is this was a fluke or bug in my system, with ffx505 I didn't even change density, just kept it to 1, but with ffx506 I have to set it higher value to get the what I need it, just like before.
I even thought maybe I missed something in ffx manual, as you can see with the pic's above I have changed nothing between ffx505 and ffx506. I just couldn't figure it out why that was happening.
Anyhow Sitni Sati, Dokorak thank you for been there for us and helping . Best regards as always.

When you select Standard as a shader for volume shading - settings for Fire, Smoke and Fuel in FumeFX will be used and when you select Arnold/RedShift Volume Shader - settings from Arnold Volume materials on the grid will be used.

Switching between those two shaders does not produce same results.

I have same message in 2022. 2021 seems fine to me. Is 2022 still unsupported?
