FumeFX 5.0 beta 1
#1
Welcome to the FumeFX 5.0 for Cinema 4D beta progam.

FumeFX 5.0 beta has no restrictions or limitations, however the license is limited to 30 days.
If beta will run for more than 30 days, we will extend license only to active beta testers.

Beta installers for Cinema 4D 18,19 and 20 (Windows) can be downloaded from: http://bit.ly/2XhBbW8

Please make sure that you point installer to the Cinema 4D install folder so that plugins will be placed to correct location.

When you submit a bug report please include:
- Cinema 4D version
- Windows version
- Processor type
- Graphic card model and driver version
- C4D scene
- steps to reproduce

We're looking forward to receive bug reports, feature requests and to see the work you'll create with FumeFX.
Feel free to share your work on the web, but we would be thankful if you can share it here as well.

Feel free create a new post for each of the issues you find.

Best regards,

Thank you for this beta. I am finding that the simulations (from the tutorials) are very quick and render nicely.

You're welcome and thank you for the bug report.

One thing to note - make sure that you have Hardware OpenGL enabled in Cinema 4D.

Low values of "Maximum Deapth" under the tab
of Multiple Scattering, like 1 or 2 , crash C4D instantly,
even without starting the simulation.

Or I was made the wrong shader to this sim?

Issue

Turning on interactive viewport in the scene will sometimes render the fire green or blue or bright yellow, to fix I would just drag the frame slider around.

Placing a light in the scene with interactive viewport on, attaching it to the FumeFX container, then turning on area shadows will make C4D hang for a good 30 seconds, and is very very slow to make any changes afterwards.
Also (not really an issue), but lights will come in at full intensity, and just blow out the smoke. Maybe its more my scene scale thats the issue though.

Windows
Windows 10 v1809 build 17763.503

Cinema
R20.059

Processor
AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X

GPU
Geforce GTX 1080 TI w\ 430.86

Scene
See attached.

Reproduce
First issue, just place on the interactive viewport and toggle on fire in the rendering option.
Second issue, place a light in the scene (for me I placed a spotlight), and turn on area shadows with interactive viewport enabled.

Hello,

Please check the topic:

With those changes, your scene will render here properly.

I've uploaded a video of me trying to get FumeFX to render with Arnold. I also come across and error when switching from Arnold to Standard Fume whilst still using the Arnold renderer and trying to do a viewport render.
(I don't own Arnold, so I'm just testing it about, hence the watermarks).

Hello,

The installer did not take the right path for the plugin Installation and had to manually drag and drop the files.
Therefore it think it would be less confusing if there would be just a plugin for download as most of the third party software installtion operate.

Also could not connect on my home office computer with the same serial as I don't always from the same place. So I wonder how I could keep on working with one serial number but from different work station?

Best,
Thomas

Hi !
The simulation window won't remember the 2 options "Hold Open" and "End Beep", it always default to "Hold Open"

Where is the serial number you have to put in on authorization?

Am I missing something?
