Continuing Simulation after crash
#1
What's the secret to continuing a simulation after a crash.
I tried adjusting the start frame to the last frame simulated but when it starts it's not starting from where the flames were in the previous frame it just starts emitting from nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Initial States?

-Make sure your preference is set making a stop and continue.
-switch to Initial State mode
-load that last frame's cache file .fxd (-the trick here is to switch your browser to display them as it wants to give you .fdc as a default).
-set your output to generate the last good/valid frame to 'complete' your current sequence with a stop and continue
-return to Regular sim mode
-do a continue simulation to the end

This has worked for me...

Hello,

The most convenient way is to have snapshots automatically saved every 10 or 20 frames, depending on the simulation. Those are .fdc files and they contain everything needed to continue the simulation.
If you're about to continue from an .fxd file, it'll have to have all the simulated channels saved, like temperature, velocity, etc..

Does this work for continuing a wavelet sim or only for default sims?

Can this be sent to a network sim or does it have to be continued locally? How would a network sim know to continue from last frame?
