Selecting multiple objects possible?
#1
Hi all.

I have a question that I haven't seen here yet but I'm surprised that it hasn't been asked.

Is there any way to add a large number of objects to a Fume source or do I need one source per object? I am starting to use rayfire to break stuff and after the simulation, there could be hundreds or thousands of pieces. That would be a pain to add if I needed 1 source per object.
Hopefully I'm overlooking something simple and there is an easy solution for this. If not, could this be added as a new feature? Maybe using groups?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

This was an issue in FumeFX version 1.x.
FumeFX 2.x will let you select multiple objects.

I used to get around the issue by goint to the last frame of my rayfire animation, duplicate all my frags, collapse the duplicates to one mesh, then skin wrapping them to the original frags, add a pointcache for speed and then you will have one object to pick in your source.
Make sure you do the collapsing/skinwrapping on the last frame as the first frame will have heaps of overlapping verts and skinwrap wont work properly

Thanks Jordan.

I just noticed that I didn't include the version I was using in the initial post. I am using 1.2.
We have already upgraded to 2 but we are in the heat of production and I don't really have the time to update all of the plugins on all our computers but it looks like I may have to find some time to do it.

Thanks for the tip for 1 though. I may have to give that a try first.
Thanks for the reply.
