Hi,
I am trying to emit smoke from geometry but i get jagged edges around the surface of the geometry.
Attached is the file which shows the undesirable texture on any object.
Regards.
Hi,
tried increasing the face count but only the pattern of the emission gets refined but its still there. Also tried simulating with very high spacing value still its does not gets solved. I tried also increasing the jitter value in the render dialog which somewhat helps but does not solve the problem.
Regards.
Hello,
Is that sphere present in rendering ?
If so, what happens when you hide it ?
Kresimir
Hi Kresimir,
The sphere is hidden during rendering.
regards.
Looks like a self-shadowing problem to me! Try to increase the jitter on the shadows!
No its not a self-shadowing problem. Tried changing the shadow type as well as increasing the jitter amount. The texture appears to form on the surface of the emitting object.
Geometry is voxelized and this is something hard to avoid.
Did you try rendering with step size 20 and jittering 100, that should improve it ?
Kresimir
Hi,
It does not seem to very much improve the quality of the render. When the object is close to the camera it gives very ugly results. Any tips as to how to emit smoke from object without getting the artifacts.
Regards.
Hi,
tried that on different test. But it seems the smoke emitting from the part of object seems voxelized.
Regards.
Hey I made some tests and was able to replicate your problem!
It's easy to fix with the smoke afc:
