Plugin.ini Structure For Afterworks Plugins With Max 2008
#1
Trying to get Dreamscape and Fume FX working in Max 2008, have not gotten them to load yet.
The first dll error I get is DCPFLICS.dlu failed to initialize, error code 126 - The specified module could not be found, then the same with Dreamscape.dlr and then the same with FumeFX.dlo.
I assume it will work once I get all this sorted out, just looking for a little help that might save me some time. The plugins are authorized on this machine with Max 9 and I basically copied the directory structure from Max 9.
Edwin got me going with FinalRender by adding this text to the plugin.ini in the Max 2008 root folder:

Include]
cebas plugins=C:\Users\Public\Documents\cebas\3dsmax9toX_x64\cebas_plugin.ini

which was really simple, but I see no such ini file for Afterworks.
What's the editing I need to do?

Thanks,
Don

I wrote Kreso privately and he said it looked like I left out a file (TSregisternow.dll) needed in my new Max install.
I copied that file also and the plugins work normally.

Thanks Kreso!

Have I just missed a post - - are there instructions for getting Dreamscape and FumeFX to work with Max 2008 online...is it similar to the Cebas approach?

Ideally someone would just post a Step 1, Step 2, Step 3 kind of thing, but looking at forum post titles I couldn't see anything that was closer than this thread.

Thanks,
JT

Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I've copied over the DCPFlics folder, the plugins folder and the TSregister.dll (and remapped plugin paths)

Afterburn works OK, but Dreamscape gives an error on loading and FumeFX just doesn't seem to show.

OK, figured it out - I was missing copying and editing plugin.ini as well.

So - I've copied plugin.ini from Max 9 (and searched and replaced 3DS Max 9 for 3DS Max 2008)

Copied the plugins folder

Copied TSRegister.dll

and remapped plugin paths within Max (not sure if this is doubling up what plugin.ini is doing though)

If I've missed anything, I'm sure Don will point it out.

Cheers,

Steve
