noise flickering in clouds
#1
Hi
I'm doing a cloud flythrough but getting some pretty nasty flickering. Here's a sample ....

http://www.digikoku.com/download/070116 ... er_001.mov

Nothing is animated, but the noise is moving. I don't think it's an antialiasing problem. The camera is moving through stationary particles. What could it be?

Thanks

The problem is in too big step size, so sampling sometimes hit noise and sometimes does not.
Try to decrease step size and problem should go away.

Thanks. That seems to have fixed the flickering.

There's another problem. When the camera moves through a particle I'm getting vertical lines in the image as below. What could this be?

Thanks

It is hard to tell what this vertical line is, but I hope that we're going to find out.
Can you tell me what renderer do you use ?
Is this line still there is you use Scanline renerer ?

Thanks

Hi Kresimir

It's the FinalRender fisheye camera. But I'm getting the same line in scanline too. I'll send the file if you like.

Thanks

Hi Mark,

Please send me a scene so that we can take a look at it (mailtoConfusedupport@afterworks.com).

Thank you.
