Slight change in brightness
#1
Hi,

I'm having a problem where a rendered sequence seems to have a slight just in illumination every 1 or 2 secs, it 's not flickering it's more like an occasional 'pop' and it gets brighter.

Over on cgfluids.com someone says that it's something to do with dcpflics. Is this the case? and is there a fix?

This problem is affecting all my renders and it's a real pain.

Cheers

Hello,

With DCPFLICS you would get a lot of that - actually each frame is different and in most cases indicate illegal plug-in copy.

Are you using Wavelet turbulence or retimer ?
Can you maybe post a video clip and a scene?

Thank you.

Hi Kresimir,

I have Fume, Afterburn and Dreamscape, all are purchased copies.

I'll sort out a demo file for you, but it happens all the time.

Garry, I know that you are legit as well as all users on this forum.
Sometimes, license can get messed up even for legal users (but that is very, very rare) and it can result in each frame changing brightness.

There was a multiple scattering bug that caused flickering on certain parts of the smoke on certain frames that is fixed in 2.1a.

Hi Kresimir,

Well it was time for a spring clean anyway, I uninstalled all my plugins and all my copies of Max, (I had 3 versions, 2009 2010 and 2011, but I only use 2011 these days).

So a fresh install of Max 2011 64bit and fresh installs of all the plugins and it seems to have fixed the problem.
