FumeFX calculating on GPU? - Jordan - 08-11-2008

I was just reading about the physX implementation on Nvidias GPUs. Just wondering if Fume could use the GPU as an extra processor?

Hello,

It could, but it would have to be completely rewritten to work on GPU... but GPU has a limited on board memory.

What is about Tesla? ILM also got a CUDA Fluid solver written. I heard that is amazing fast.
If you aren't able to do something like this write me a PM and lets talk about.

We don't have such plans at the moment - to port to GPU.
Thank you for your kind offer.
