Vortex madness….? - ogdgs - 05-26-2008 Vortex madness….? Hi I’m trying to make smoke in a room get sucked down a vent. I put a vortex at the entrance of the vent. It works great for about 50 frames and then everything gets really fast and turbulent. What is going on? No amount of velocity damping will stop it? If this is not the correct approach could someone suggest another. thanks OLIVER GUEST Re: Vortex madness….? - sitnisati - 05-29-2008 Hi Oliver, Those are forces and they add velocity in each frame. To keep velocities in desired range, you'd have to slow down the force effect over the frames. Simlar to effect of wind on particles.. they get faster and faster each frame. I hope this helps.
