What's next for FumeFX? - macarbon - 02-13-2007

Hi,

I'm wondering what is next for FumeFX.
You say that Mental Ray support is not a priority so what is?

I guess getting AB and FumeFX to work hand in hand in all situation could be considered top priority.

Any chance of porting FumeFX to Softimage|XSI? They are now very opened for other rendering possibilites as well.(meaning not only Mental Ray)

Thank you

Hello,

I hope that you understand that we cannot give development plans in detail to the public. I can assure you that we are constantly working on plug-in updates and that we listen carefuly what our users request.

FumeFX 1.0a will be out next week and it'll bring a Simulation License (SL in short). SL means that you cannot change simulation parameters, but you can run simulation (even through backburner!).
In practice, you will be able to use backburner to start multiple simulations on multiple network machines and pick the result that you like the most. Note that SL does not means that FumeFX will be able to perform distributed simulation.

Two SL will be included with full license and additional pack for 4 SL will be purchasable for $195.

Regards,

Kresimir

That's great news kresimir - slave simulations are going to be extremely handy.

Would be a nice feature Big Grin

Oh yes, would be great !

An the possibility to fill selected objects with fuel, without using object in simulation.

"An the possibility to fill selected objects with fuel, without using object in simulation."

chris thats already possible no ?

free flow on an object source with Fuel 100 ..

if its not working now it s a bug then most likely..

or are you saying something else ?

If you want a control over raster points in the object volume you could also use the Volume Position operator , thats another way ..
