2.1c retime-observed noise or stutter at rendertime? - rconover - 12-19-2011 Hi there- This may just be a limit of retimes-but i was wondering if there was anything I could do to improve my retime sim (when rendered)? Original time scale is 1.3. And this appears to render fine to me. I then retime by .5. There is a perceived noise or stutter when this is rendered-but just in certain areas-primarily where the effect is hit strongest by light-more shadowed areas pretty much hide the issue. Both (rt and retimed) renders are motioned blurred to the same degree. Two other sims in the same scene seem to retime (also at .5) *without* this issue. And all three FX are based on the same basic recipe. Also what is 'Soucre Area Blur' actually supposed to do? It seems to not be documented specifically. It is not on for this fume box but I wouldn't say I ever observed a difference to if it was on or not... -thanks raonull Re: 2.1c retime-observed noise or stutter at rendertime? - Mr.Blank - 03-05-2012 I have the same issue when retiming by 0,5. When rendered the images stutter. The smoke/fire jolts uppwards and then downwards. The issue seems only to appear when I'm doing highres.sims. When retiming lowres it seems to work fine... :S Re: 2.1c retime-observed noise or stutter at rendertime? - sitnisati - 03-05-2012 Hello, Can you please post your scene (please make it as simple as possible), so we can take a look ? Thank you. Kresimir Re: 2.1c retime-observed noise or stutter at rendertime? - Mr.Blank - 03-05-2012 Not sure if you ment rconover or me but nevertheless here's a Example scene and rendered result of the retiming (used the default sim. cache to simulate Post retiming) Re: 2.1c retime-observed noise or stutter at rendertime? - Mr.Blank - 09-27-2012 Any news on this? I still have the same problem using FumeFX 3... Re: 2.1c retime-observed noise or stutter at rendertime? - sitnisati - 10-12-2012 Hello, For a good retiming, you should limit number of simulation sub-steps to 1. I have attached what I get with retimer and ss max=1. Regards, Kreismir |
