Afterflics authorization - shawnolson - 04-14-2011

I seem to be unable to get the AfterFLICS working correctly. I am trying to activate it on the network server and it always tells me to check the internet connection. I added all firewall exceptions and still it just fails. It seems like it should work in the same manner that DCPFLICS works as the interface is almost identical... but AfterFLICS is not working for me...

Any suggestions?

If it matters, all the machines and server are Windows 7 64bit.

Hello,

You can try to use manual authorization. Not sure why would online auth fail in your case.

If you had an existing (older) AFLICS installed it could cause issues. IE the firewall could be allowing the incorrect AFLICS.exe, just a thought.

I have ScatterVL and its AFLICS was causing issues with the newly installed AFLICS that comes with Fume2.1. The 3dsMax.exe thread would block while waiting for a license response, of which it would never get. I assume from it looking at the wrong AFLICS.exe.

Kreso could you maybe add a check in the new installers that removes the old AFLICS?

@jrand Thanks for the suggestion!

I should have come back here to say it's resolved. I got an email from Kresimir that there was a power outtage at their server ... and it happened to coincide when I was trying to authorize fume and afterburn. The next day (when their power came back) it worked.
