FumeFX Crash on Render - mnarlock - 03-24-2011 Hello, I'm getting a consistent crash with fumefx (2.1b) and 3ds max 2011 64 and 32 bit. The file I'm using is one that fumefx comes with, torus on fire. I'm enclosing the file here. The only thing I've done to it is not render the fire. I can render individual stills, but when I render the stills as an animation (for the purposes of this email I've tried to render them as jpegs), Max crashes part way through the first frame. I've tried using scanline as well as vray 1.5. Re: FumeFX Crash on Render - TiRomain - 03-25-2011 Hi, It's your Noise Map#0, in the FumeFX render who make the crash. If it always crashes for you, can you please try to start rendering from frame 2 and see if it crashes. Thank you for a bug report. Kreismir Re: FumeFX Crash on Render - Eric-S - 04-13-2011 We've hit a render crash that seems to be related to multiscattering. i.e. if its 'on' it will crash *certain frames* on *certain fumeboxes*. But not all. But crashes the same frames every time if its occuring (on multiple machines). Uncheck multiscatter and no crash. I wonder if its the same issue? I never saw this with version 1.0 of fumefx (over years of use). But I can repro in 2.1a in both max 2009 and 2011 with the same scene. Seems to be a fairly common occurrance as multiple users here have had this issue with completely unique fx (i.e. All built from scratch-not shared) Any chance this crash bug is related? There were few fixes about multiple scattering and flickering issue and I will check if that could cause crash. Thank you. Kresimir |
